TENERIFE
‘The Island of eternal spring’Tenerife is one of the world’s top holiday spots. Closer to Africa than Spain it’s enviable sunshine leaves most other places in the shade. It’s a land of two different faces, neon lit dance spots and buzzing bars in the south and whitewashed houses and tapas joints in the north.
Sun-worshipers come to pay homage to Tenerife’s beaches. Whether you like a lively sandy hub with plenty to do, or a peaceful spot with only the sea for company, you’ll find both ends of the spectrum here and everything in between. That’s the beauty of Tenerife. It’s a fascinating land of contradictions. Spend a little time choosing the right piece of the puzzle for you and you’ll have the holiday you’ve been hankering after. With a great tan thrown in for good measure!
Playa de la Americas
The island’s party capital, you can spend the day chilled on a sandy beach, before dancing the night away in the resort’s nightclubs along the Veronicas strip. A fun family resort too you can splash around in the island’s newst attraction, Siam Park, play a round of mini-golf or enjoy the facilities on offer at many of the resort’s brilliant hotels.
Los Cristianos
A traditional harbour town with a Continental flavour, this quiet resort gives you an authentic Spanish holiday, with plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants, a weekly market town in the cobbled streets and a gentle pace of life. With its promanade running all the way along the golden beach to upbeat Playa de las Americas, it offers you the best of both worlds.
Puerto de la Cruz
A pretty seaside town with a real Spanish flavour, this is a fantastic choice if you want to visit Mount Teide. Home to Tenerife’s most popular tourist attraction, Loro Parque, if you’d rather just unwind in the sun, the sandy bays of Playa Jardin, the saltwater pools and waterfalls of Lido Martianez and the alfresco dining of the old town’s leafy promanade are totally relaxing.
Los Gigantes
This charming town will sweep you off your feet with it’s charming village like ambience. Splash around in the shallows or strech out on the black sand beach. It’s rarely crowded so there’s always a spot with your name on it. Watch the colourful boats bob up and down on the waves, or jump on board and join a trip out to the deep blue for a spot of dolphin and whale watching.
