KOS
Beautiful beaches, Venetian castles, whitewashed villages and a bustling harbour town with a thriving nightlife. This charming island is small enough for easy exploration and large enough to flaunt a little of everything.
BEACHES
Kos has many long stretches of fine white sands delving into crystalline blue water, many offering a great selection of watersports. It is still possible to find a quiet spot on countless coves, beautiful bays and shingle shores around the island.
SIGHTSEEING
The island’s capital Kos Town is layered with history and home to the 15th century castle of the Knights of St John and Hippocrates Plane Tree (with a 39ft circumference). Near to the village of Platani is the ancient Aklepieon (treatment centre). From Kos you can take a boat trip to neighbouring Nissyros to see the monastery and volcano which dominate the island.
NIGHTLIFE
Kos Town and Kardamena lead the way for partying into the early hours, their streets lined with endless clubs and bars. The quieter resorts generally offer a more sophisticated scene, where a stroll along the beach followed by a night cap in a sea front café bar makes for a more relaxed evening.
