Cheap Holidays to Egypt Thomson
Holidays
With its coral reefs teeming with
colourful fish and exotic sea creatures, the Red Sea has become a mecca for both
scuba divers and water sports enthusiasts. Once a lazy fishing village,
Hurghada has blossomed into the largest and most cosmopolitan of the Egyptian
Red Sea resorts. With its luxury hotels, azure water and stunning mountain
backdrop it offers all the ingredients for a perfect beach based holiday.
Remnants of the fishing village remain around the old town, where traditional
ways of life are still maintained. The new Hurghada continues to expand along
the coastline. New hotels, shops, bars and restaurants are springing up every
year, but the atmosphere and character is unmistakably Egyptian and the pace of
life is relaxed and informal.
Visit downtown Hurghada and you
will find local colour as Egyptian life continues. The souvenir shops, local
restaurants and Duty Free shopping malls in the Sekalla district will also tempt
you. As an up and coming holiday destination, various building projects are
taking place so that Hurghada can offer even more of a diverse range of tourist
facilities. It is likely some projects will extend into 2007.
