Coastguard Cottage in Caister

Holidays by the sea – Caister in Norfolk

For those looking for a few days away, and fancy a nice holiday near the coast in England, may I suggest “Coastguard Cottage” in the town of Caister, just a couple of miles north of that mecca of sea-side entertainment, Great Yarmouth in Norfolk.

Details about Coastguard Cottage

Coastguard Cottage is one of two cottages at this location, together they are known as “East Coast Cottages”, with Coastguard Cottage sleeping 8 people. There is one double bedroom, one twin bedroom, one bunk bedroom and two single bedrooms; making Coastguard Cottage the perfect place for a family holiday.

Located next door to the owner’s family holiday park, you have full use of all the amenities at the park during your holiday in the cottage.

There are lots of activities going on in the area, which I’ll cover in a minute, but one other thing you should know about Coastguard Cottage is that is comes with its own private hot tub. After a day exploring the Norfolk coast, what better way to finish than by spending your evening in your own private hot tub!

Things to do at Coastguard Cottage

Coastguard Cottage has a terrific location, a short walk from the sandy beaches at Caister-on-Sea, and a short drive from all the seaside entertainment you can handle at Great Yarmouth.

Great Yarmouth has bars and restaurants, the Pleasure Beach, “Joyland” – for the younger children, amusements, fish and chips shops, indoor swimming complex – you get the idea, I could go on, but let’s just say there’s more entertainment going on in Great Yarmouth than you handle in a few days at Coastguard Cottage!

The Norfolk Broads are a short drive from Coastguard Cottage too, where you can hire a motor cruiser for a couple of hours. Or head to BeWILDerwood for the day, we’ve been to BeWILDerwood several times (you can read about our visit to BeWILDerwood), and would highly recommend this day out.

Norfolk is one of the driest counties in the UK – and it’s quite flat too – which makes this a great place for a spot of cycling. It’s an easy cycle ride from Coastguard Cottage to Great Yarmouth, and if you’re feeling fit, further south to Lowestoft, just over the border in Suffolk.
