The World Wildlife Fund began in 1961 and without it the habitats of millions of animals could have been lost to the present day. The concern was mainly at that time the hunting of animals in and the destruction of their habitats in Africa and from here they branched out over the years and are now in over 90 countries throughout the world, helping to preserve habitats and educate people about the effect the world in having on their habitat.
Originally setup to focus on the conservation of the habitat of wildlife this then expanded to take into account on a broader scale the implications that man was having on the environment. One of the main concepts of the WWF has been bringing animals and man to live together in perfect harmony to ensure that future generations aren’t compromised in anyway.

From small beginnings the WWF began in conservation and from this began showing the public and Government the need for change. The WWF now lobby Government, conduct research, and make people aware of the situation by influencing education systems and educating businesses and industries to the situation of the global threats in the future and how to address them for the long-term.

There are many ways that you can help the WWF from adopting an animal, making a donation or regular donation, buying from the WWF shop online, campaigning or taking part in one or many events that are held. Visit the WWF online today and see how you can make a difference now and for the future.
