An international charity that was originally set up to highlight the fact that some of the poorest people in the world don’t have access to clean water and sanitation, WaterAid is striving to make people aware of the poverty that these people are facing everyday and the problems associated with poor sanitation and hygiene. In an ideal world every person would have access to cool, clean water whenever they wanted it and this with your help is what water aid hopes to achieve.

Water Aid campaigns not only locally but also internationally to ensure that people realise how vital a role water and sanitation are in reducing poverty around the world and making the world a better and safer place in which to live. Water aid not only works with local communities who understand the issues locally but also campaign internationally in order to change practises and policies for those suffering.
Water Aid however doesn’t just talk, they do and they are able to do this by increasing the awareness through partner organisations. WaterAid comprises of staff, volunteers, donors, trustees and partners and are constantly learning and evolving from what they learn by relying in research, evaluation and analysis and believe that everyone has to work together as one if the dream of everyone in the world having access to clean water and sanitation is to be realised.
The path out of poverty begins with clean water and sanitation. WaterAid is an international non governmental organisation dedicated exclusively to the provision of safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people. We work in 17 countries in Africa, Asia and the Pacific region. To date we have helped over 9.5 million people gain access to clean, safe water. |
