For a few days in the sun with the kids, you can’t beat Coral Sea Water World. Coral Sea Water World is a lovely “Splash Resort” holiday resort in Sharm el-Sheikh – which, for those who aren’t up to scratch with their middle east geography (as, indeed, I wasn’t until we went there on holiday) is on the Red Sea coast in Egypt. Coral Sea Water World is an all-inclusive resort with a couple of lovely swimming pools, and crucially, there’s a water-park on-site – a spectacular place for the children.
All-inclusive – food, drink and the water park
Coral Sea Water World is available with First Choice – the self-proclaimed home of all-inclusive – and First Choice are the people we booked our Coral Sea Water World holiday with. As Coral Sea Water World is all-inclusive you get all your food and drink included in the price. With all meals served as a buffet, so you and your family can choose exactly what you want to eat – and how much (or little) you want to eat too; after a day running up the steps of the water park you may well want to put away a few calories.
Plenty of snacks are available between meals; with the ice-cream in a handmade cone being popular with our children. Oh, and the swim-up bar too – the children liked having a coke in the pool!
The water-park is what really catches your eye though. There are plenty of rides and slides – suitable for toddlers and teenagers alike. When we were at Coral Sea Water World the resort was fully booked, but there was never a queue for the slides. The water-park is also included in the price of your holiday! You can come and go as much as you like, and not have to pay a single penny more.
The main swimming pool was where we generally laid our metaphorical hat. A large meandering lagoon type of pool (as shown in the photo above), you can swim around; or just take to one of the many sun loungers ringing the area.
The rooms are spread out in the grounds, with the whole building being no more than three storeys high. Our room was huge – more than plentiful for the four of us. There is a TV (although we never used it – why go all the way to Egypt and watch East Enders), a stocked mini-bar (although we didn’t purchase any of the contents, the mini-bar was handy to keep the milk in for a brew in the morning).

The video below was taken from the top of one of the slides at Coral Sea Water World, and shows the water-park; as well as the surrounding area.
Coral Sea Water World water sports
Coral Sea Water World is next to the beach, with a plethora of water-sports going on. All the favourites are here, with parasailing, banana boats and donuts all available. You can have a day scuba diving in the reefs too. If all that sounds too much like hard work, it’s worth just snorkelling from the beach. The sea stays shallow for a hundred yards or so from the beach, so is safe for children to snorkel & play.
Should I go to Coral Sea Water World
Coral Sea Water World is certainly the place to come for some sun. The temperature gets up to 30°C in April, so you can escape the dying throws of the British winter and get-away to Sharm for an early break. The water-park, swimming pools and sea all make Coral Sea Water World a good holiday for families. And there’s children’s clubs for those who want some time to themselves.
Anything else to report about Coral Sea Water World
I could go on all-day, but won’t. A few other things to mention are: the main drag is a 2 minute walk, and has many of the standard international restaurants: McDonalds, Burger King, Starbucks, KFC (Kentucky Fried Camel, we were told), and the Hard Rock Cafe. The resort has its own Spa too – so you get your nails done while the kids are hurling themselves done the slides.
