Payment Methods
Pitney Bowes offer two payment options for replenishing franking machine postage and purchasing other supplies.
Pre-payment through "Postage By Phone"
"Postage By Phone" offers automatic meter refills via the telephone system. The system is fast and efficient, offering reliability and maximum user friendliness. Postage value can be re-charged 6 days a week between 7.00am to 8.00pm. It is the preferred payment method of some 100,000 customers.
Those choosing to pre-pay for postage hold an agreed deposit balance with Pitney Bowes that reflects typical monthly mailing volumes. When postage is downloaded, the difference is collected, ensuring that the account balance is kept at pre-agreed level. For example, if the agreed deposit balance is £200, this amount will be automatically collected from the account. When postage is downloaded, the difference is taken from the account, so the balance of the account remains at £200, ready for the next transaction.
Payment in Arrears through "Purchase Power"
Pitney Bowes "Purchase Power" allows franking machines to be topped up immediately, with postage to the required level, and paid for at a later date. "Purchase Power" allows 55 days before payment is due.
Consolidated billing allows other Pitney Bowes purchase to be added to a "Purchase Power invoice, saving the time, inconvenience and cost of making multiple payments. For those leasing mailing systems, the lease will remain unaffected and will be billed separately. In order to comply with UK legislation, Pitney Bowes operates four different Barclays bank accounts. Payment must be made to the correct account to ensure its correct processing. For example, if you need to make a "Postage By Phone" payment and a lease payment, these payments will need to be paid into separate bank accounts and not combined into one payment.
